Roof Cost Calculator for Wylie, TX
See how roof area changes an asphalt replacement budget. Use a known roof measurement or explore the example, then connect the numbers to the work your roof needs.
Start with the roof area you know
Roof size gives a replacement budget its starting scale. This calculator uses a published Dallas-Fort Worth asphalt shingle range and shows how the same roof-area number changes when it describes a flat footprint instead of the sloped roof surface.
You can keep the sample inputs if you do not know your roof measurements. There is no need to climb onto the roof. The result helps frame a budget conversation; a free inspection connects it to the condition, materials and details of your own roof.

Explore an asphalt roof budget
Change the area and measurement type to see the planning range update. The starting example is 2,000 square feet of actual roof surface with asphalt shingles.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.
Planning budget example
Planning example for 2,000 sq. ft. of actual roof surface, using asphalt shingles. Ordinary tear-off is included.
The published asphalt range includes installation, tear-off and disposal. Roof shape, access, damaged decking and the selected system can move your project outside the example.

Source, assumptions and limits
Davis Roofing Solutions publishes a 2026 Dallas-Fort Worth asphalt shingle replacement range of $4.50–$7.50 per roof square foot installed, including tear-off and disposal. It is one contractor’s regional guidance, not Wylie Roofers pricing or a local market average.
Known roof surface area is multiplied directly by that range. A footprint entry uses a simple pitch multiplier: square root of 1 + (pitch divided by 12) squared. That assumes the same pitch across the entered footprint. It does not measure a house, count waste or evaluate a complex roof.
The example does not add separate allowances for damaged decking, unusual access, special flashing or other project-specific work. A roof inspection and defined scope establish what your project actually needs. No insurance payment is deducted.
Choose the area the number describes
A square-foot number can describe very different parts of a house. Choose the matching area type before using the result.
The roof work still sets the final price
A larger roof generally needs more material and labor. The work beneath and around the shingles also changes the project.
The layers below
Damaged decking or roofing that cannot support a sound installation needs attention when the old covering comes off. The calculator cannot inspect those layers.
The shape and connections
Steep slopes, valleys, walls, chimneys and access change how the roof is installed. A simple area calculation does not price those details individually.
The chosen material
This tool covers a broad asphalt shingle category. A particular shingle, metal system or commercial membrane needs its own product and installation scope.
Roof calculator FAQs
Is the result a quote for my roof?
No. It applies one published regional range to your selected assumptions. We need the actual roof condition and project scope to discuss a property-specific price.
Does the example include removing the old shingles?
The cited range includes tear-off and disposal. It does not establish an allowance for every roof condition, extra layer or damaged deck, so the work still needs a roof-specific scope.
Can I use it for metal roofing or a commercial roof?
This model only covers asphalt shingles. Explore metal roofing or commercial roofing for the different systems and work involved.
